In trying to remain current with recent market trends Omega Apparel acquired the "LA GEAR" license in January 2016. 

In October 2014 LA Gear underwent a revamp of some of its product lines and announced its 2015 spring/summer launch with new items and a slew of celebrity endorsements, ,most notably US rapper Tyga & his son King Cairo.
